Dr Nirmala KumaradevanMBBS (Sri Lanka), MD Histopathology (Sri Lanka), FRCPath (London), FRCPA, was originally trained in Sri Lanka (University of Peradeniya) and at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, London. After obtaining her MD Histopatholgy (Sri Lanka) and MRCPath/FRCPath (London), she worked as Consultant Pathologist in Sri Lanka before migrating to Australia. Following additional Pathology training at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, she was granted the Fellowship of the RCPA in 2000. She worked as a Staff Specialist in Anatomical Pathology at St. George, Royal North Shore and Prince of Wales Hospitals prior to joining St Vincent’s Hospital in 2003. She is regularly involved in UNSW undergraduate teaching, registrar training and technical staff education. She co-ordinates the external Quality Assurance activities of the Department.
Her areas of special interest include dermatopathology, urological pathology, renal biopsy pathology and cytology.
